Using
a barcode scanner to update training records saves time and improves
accuracy. There are two methods to update Training Tracker using
barcodes.
Method One - Employee Barcodes
With this method you give each employee a barcode to attach to
their employee name badge, or, if you already have barcoded badges,
you enter that number into the person record in Training Tracker.
- Give each employee a barcode (or enter their barcode if it
already exists on their name badge).
- Scan each employee as they leave a training session
- Upload the scanner to Training Tracker (choose Employee Barcode
Scans)
- It will prompt you for the task, or course, that was completed.
- It will update the completion date for this task for each employee
that was scanned.
- If someone has not been assigned the task, it will add the
task and mark it as complete.
Method Two - Class Roll Sheet
Print a “Class Roll Sheet”. This will find everyone
assigned a particular task within a specified date range. It prints
a list with each person’s name, and a barcode next to the
person. This barcode encodes both the employee and the course that
was selected.
- Take the class roll sheet to the course, and check the box for
each employee that completes the course.
- Bring the class roll sheet back to your desk, and scan the barcodes
of each employee who completed the course.
- When you upload the scanner, it will mark the task complete
for each person who attended.
